Kedainiai NDS 24.11.2013

Our November show marathon was finished at Kedainiai National Show on November 24, 2013. This show was quite special for us, because our little “Kris” CH Atomic Love at Stabmeldys was entered to the champion class for the very first time after getting the confirmation of her Lithuanian Champion title. Judge was Elzbieta Chwalibog from Poland, total entry of 10 whippets. Though “Kris” was alone in her class and won it easily, she had great competition during the comparison for Best Adult Bitch, Best Bitch and Best of Breed. And she won it all! – finished as Best Adult Bitch (Winner), Best Bitch, BOB and finally BIG-1! Her critique: “Beautiful bitch, excellent head and ears, excellent topline and body curves, strong muscles, good tail, free movement”.

Kaunas NDS 16.11.2013

Next show of our November show marathon was the National show in Kaunas, Lithuania. Once again I have entered both girls, Kris “Atomic Love at Stabmeldys” and her mother Gella “Haute Couture Tik Romantika”.

Whippets judge was Mrs Svetlana Postarnakova. Kris was placed 2nd in open class, her description: “Good height and format, well proportioned head, correct ears, long neck, correct topline, free movement“. And Gella got her 9th Lithuanian CAC in champion class and later was Best Adult Bitch (Winner) and BOB. Her description: “Good height and bones, good head, good pigment, correct topline, deep brisket, good angulations, free movement, beautiful presentation“. She also was 3rd in Group. Unfortunately we have no photos from the show so far – Gella’s photo was taken this Summer.

Riga Speciality 9.11.2013

November’s Riga Speciality was supposed to be the most exciting show of the year 2013 – Latvian Sighthounds Club had invited Mrs Bitte Ahrens Primavera to judge this show. Showing my dogs to Bitte Ahrens was my longtime dream and it was really rare chance to do this just 300 kms away from home. So I have entered my both girls immediately after discovering that Gella haven’t got pregnant after her last mating which took place in July.

Unfortunately we always were very unlucky with Latvian shows, and this time it appeared to be the same – just 4 days before the show it was announced that the judge can’t come due to serious health issues. So the whippets were given to Mrs Rasme Ergle – Latvian borzoi breeder. I was not allowed to withdraw my dogs from the show, so we decided to come anyway, at least to see our relatives who live in Riga.

So we took part in the show, and despite the fact that our ring was late for 2 hours it wasn’t so bad:

Kris “Atomic Love at Stabmeldys” was placed 4th with CQ in open class (6 bitches entered). Her description by Mrs Rasme Ergle: “Nice & feminine. Good head & expression, correct neck, good topline & underline. Enough front angulation, very good rear angulation. Free movement, nice temperament”.

Gella “Haute Couture Tik Romantika” had her second show performance this year and surprised me – she was placed 2nd with CQ in champion class out of 6 great bitches, just after her longtime rival Gemma “Bicolour Tourmaline Dominija” who won the class. This reminded me of past years then Gella and Gemma was together competing in junior classes, great memories! Gella’s critique by Mrs Rasma Ergle: “7 years old, nice & feminine. Good head, nice size & proportions. Very good topline, very good angulations. Free movement, nice temperament.”

So generally we very pleased with the results and spent the rest of the weekend resting with our Latvian family whom we always visit when coming to shows held in Riga. And I still hope to have a chance to show my whippets under Mrs Bitte Ahrens Primavera one day :)

Panevezys NAT 29.10.2013

After a long break we had another show this fall, this time a National show which took place in Panevezys city on October 27th. Our “Gella” Haute Couture Romantika made her “show debut” this year, being entered in Champion class, and her daughter “Kris” CH Atomic Love at Stabmeldys participated among Open class bitches. Judge was Jelena Kruus, Estonia. Kris ended up being ex.3/4, and Gella got ex.1 and her 8th LT CAC.

Vilnius NAT 09.15.

Our baby “Kris” Atomic Love at Stabmeldys has finished her Lithuanian Junior Champion title on September 14, 2012. Later she got enough CACs to become Lithuanian Champion, but she was in a waiting year for her CH title before September 2013. So I have entered her to the same Vilnius National on September 15, 2013 – the first possible show for completing her CH title.

It was the finest show this year, just within 10 minutes walk from our home. We arrived for breed judging at 10:00. Judge was Mrs Monika Tauraseviciene of well-known “Romantika” whippets, and she awarded “Kris” with CAC, BOB and later BIG-2! So we have brand new Lithuanian Champion at “Stabmeldys”, my first breed Champion!

After the ring we walked home for a dinner and rest with “Rocky Balboa” movie, and then walked back to group judging at 17:00. No crates or other stuff to be carried – I’ve just walked in with Kris and a handbag, wow!

Salcininkai NAT 17.08.

The Kennel Club of Salcininkai City (small town located 40km south from Vilnius) made great surprise for Lithuanian dog show people this year – it has invited 3 reputable European judges, Mr Horst Kliebenstein and Mrs Martha Heine from Germany, and Mr Franciso Rui Rodriguez from Spain. It is rare event among Lithuanian all-breed CAC shows to have such worldwide-known judges in the rings, so it was great opportunity to show the dogs under true experts.

Whippets were judges by Mrs Martha Heine, who have judged whippets at many important events including famous “Finnish Winner” International show. Our Gella was supposed to be pregnant after the mating (later we discovered she is not, unfortunately…), so I have entered only our “Kris” Atomic Love at Stabmeldys. Kris did extremely well – she won open class with LT CAC against Belgian bitch, then she became Best Adult Bitch agains champion class winner bitch, and later won BOS against junior female! I was over the moon – I have dreamed to show my dogs under Mrs Heine since my first whippet was a youngster, and my dream came true with such a marvelous results!
